Return 2 Play

A serious knee injury can be devastating for athletes of any age. Missing a season is tough, but even worse is returning to play unprepared. Athletes who complete a post-surgery physical therapy program may not yet be ready for a return to full-speed play; our  ACL Bridge program ‘bridges’ that gap. This individualized program includes regular evaluations to measure progress as athletes work to improve strength, flexibility, mobility, stability, and power so they can return to competition “better than new.”

Endurance Training

The Endurance program is designed to help runners, cyclists, and triathletes achieve their personal best and stay healthy as training volume and intensity increase. To become faster and stronger, endurance athletes need more than the standard low-resistance, high-repetition workouts, boot camps, or any other high-intensity one-size-fits-all approach. The training emphasizes proper biomechanics, strength, and stability, all of which are critical determinants of performance and contribute to reducing the risk of injury.

Visual Training

Training with the Senaptec strobe glasses enhances visual skills such as focus, object tracking, anticipation timing, reaction time, visualization, balance/stability, and peripheral vision. The strobes in the glasses reduce the amount of visual information available to the athlete, forcing them to become more effective in processing this data. This effectively slows the game down around the athlete, helping them make quicker decisions, execute rapid responses, and complete more efficient movements which contribute to better game-day performance.

Cord Training

Athletic Republic Conditioning Cords provide controlled resistance while allowing athletes to perform at game speed, greatly improving sport-specific power for hitting, throwing, running, shooting, spiking serving and/or jumping. Our patented SprintCords, KickingCords, ThrowingCords, PowerCords, Hitting Harness and Warm-up Cords provide resistance without changing or affecting proper mechanics to increase power. In addition, it helps athletes isolate aspects of their movement to develop greater proprioception and understanding of good technique.

Strength Training

Our weight training program is designed specifically for each athlete’s sport, training age, gender, and imbalances, with the aim of building a more injury-resistant athlete. As a result, we spend a lot of time developing decelerating musculature and healthy joints such as hips, knees and shoulders. Additional considerations include energy systems, movement patterns, primary as well as secondary movers, hypertrophy, strength, power, and endurance. We use everything from free weights and kettlebells to bands and boxes. Our athletes are under the watchful eye of an instructor to ensure they are being taught the right way to push themselves.

Camps & Clinics

Athletic Republic Norwood runs various sport-specific clinics throughout the year that focus on skills as well as functional movement skills and speed as they apply to that sport. Sports covered include soccer, lacrosse, football, field hockey, and hockey. Clinics will resume at a later date pending Covid-19 restrictions.
